Bonaire october..
After the Boniare regatta the wind died completely I haven't windsurfed since then.
during the regata I bought me a dingy with a 15hp motor, so I now I am fishing all day, me and my cousin had been catching alot of yellow tails tuna's and some other small fishes, after that we sell them and we get some money not alot, this is the best way to spend your time while waiting for the wind, Usually in this type of month the wind is like 5-10 knots so it pretty normal.

Well now I am helping my grandma & grandpa with some work around the house and everynowathen I go catch some fish to eat.

I hope the wind gets better here so that I can have some training going on for next year tour.

Have fun wherever you are.

The Tiree Wave Classic
It's been a great week of wind and waves for the 2004 Wave Classic off the West Coast of Scotland. 45 of the top UK Pro, ladies, amateurs and youth battled it out for the UKWA Triple Crown title.

John Skye took the overall title while Chris Audsley won the Tiree event. I was one point away from taking 3rd for the event.

We had 3 rounds of wave competition. 1day in cross on shore Starboard tack conditions, 1 in cross onshore port tack conditions and the final day in logo to mast high cross shore port tack conditions. I finished 5th, 3rd and 3rd which gave me 4th overall. I was one point from 3rd place, which was very frustrating but then the UK scene is very competitive and we have some of the best world sailors entering the competitions.

The Evo 70 and 80 were performing really well in the full range of conditions.

We are now waiting for the 4 hour ferry back to the main land before driving 10 hours to the next competition on the south coast of the U.K.

On the road
First off , big congrats to Scott Mc for the 2004 PWA Wave Title. Even if it had been mast high down the line Scotty would've taken it. His confidence in the EVO showed through in his relaxed yet radical riding. Nice one Scott.

Also, "nice one Scott "for scoring big waves and wind at my local spot in the U.K - Bigbury. This beach has had a couple of big days in the last year and both times I have been out of the country. This time was even more annoying, as Scott ,who lives on the other side of the world sailed it and I didn't! I can't be too annoyed though as I have just had a great week in Turkey, enjoying some late summer sun and wind. I was there as part of a watersports clinic that was being run by my clothing sponsor Fat Face. It is really good to see main stream, high street brands such as Fat Face getting involved in our sport. They use pictures of windsufing in all of there shops (90+ in U.K) and it is great that they invest in our sport by sponsoring riders and events. Check out their site - www.fatface.co.uk

Today I'm driving to Scotland to compete in the final UKWA Triple Crown event of the year. It's being held on the Island of Tiree, off Scotlands rugged west coast. You can keep up to date with the results and news from the event at www.tireewaveclassic.com. There should be daily picture and news updates there. The event starts on the 17th Oct.

After Tiree I am heading straight down, 10 hours driving, to the Isle of Wight on Englands south coast for the Fat Face White Air event. This is an extreme sports event that sees 14 different disciplines (windsurfing, surfing, kitesurfing, etc) being contested over 6 days. It's huge and this year it is being filmed for prime time U.K television to be broadcast on channel 4. www.whiteair.co.uk. Check it out.

I will endeavour to bring you updates over the next few weeks as the contest scene here in the U.K hots up for some Autumn action.

I hope it is windy wherever you are.

37th Boniare Intenational Regatta..
The Regata started on October 4th, with wind gusting 15-20 knots in the course area, which was a perfect weather for doing the Formula races, on the first & second day I won all my races by far and i knew that I will win this regatta because I trained alot on my formula gears ever since I got back home from the Canaries, so it all pays of.

Well on Wednesday there was the king of lac Bay freestyle, the wind was pretty light with no planing moves, and that's when the light wind freestyle tricks kicks in. with Kiri doing his Famous moves the Gecko Flaka that was sets him on the podium for winning the freestyle. with me in second and my brother Choko Nb-6 in Third position,

Thursday the wind got lighter and the first race was won by me, and the second race the wind dies completely but still the race director manage to start the race, I was in third. the race should't count becaus there was no wind but I don't like to potrest. so I let it go.

On Friday the awards was giving:

I won two trophies:

Formula Men, 1st place

Freestyle men, 2nd place,

well now I am spending some time fishing, and get prepared for back to training

Scotty WWC & Taty Bonaire
Hi All.

Sometimes you wish for something BIG to happen and it takes maybe years & years to come true,
Well My old bro Scotty had this wish and dream for so long that he didn't give up.

I am pretty sure that he is truly happy with his Title and so are all the STARBOARD team.

The New Evo new machines for the wave are the world best. Scotty you put these to the limit and I respect you for your great talent.

Well Now I am in Bonaire racing in the 37th Bonaire Regatta and I am winning by far, We had two days of racing already and I won them all, My board 158 and the Nitro5 9.8 are working great. there is still two days to go and one day of Freestyle so we see what the wind will do and hope we can have good Conditions for Tomorow during the freestyle.

Sylt
Hi all

The Starboard wave team are here in Sylt for the PWA finals - Scotty, Ty, Luke, Ross, Kevin and myself. The conditions have been pretty normalfor Sylt i.e onshore wind and mushy waves. The shorebreak has been challenging for many, causing some upsets in the heats.

I was doing well but then came up against Kevin Pritchard. It's never good to compete against a team mate but it's the luck of the draw I guess. We had a good heat fighting it out in the jumping bith scoring 7s for our jumps. Kevin is a master of searching out the longer , bigger waves here in Sylt and he managed to bag a couple of high scoring sets to take the win, good on him, his waves were way better than mine.

Scotty is still on top of the world but there is still a long way to run here in Sylt. The event ends on Sunday and although the weather forecasts are not that good, who knows what will happen with the wind. Currently the it isn't blowing but tomorrow it could be, who knows? Stay tuned to www.pwaworldtour.com and www.star-board.com for all the updates.

For now we are just kicking back and relaxing and waiting for the wind to return. Sylt is as busy as ever with loads of spectators wanting autographs and more.........................

Check back soon for updates.

Trip to Japan

Hi everyone!

I just got back from a week long trip to Japan. It was amazing! I went
there for the second annual NWA (Nippon Windsurfing Association) freestyle
competition. My trip started off with a long flight from Hawaii to Fukuoka
airport. There I caught a ride with my friend Hisataka Ishii. We caught a
ferry to Iki island where the competition would be held. It's a small, very
country style island off the coast of Kyushu Island. It has a small
population, with lots of rice fields, mountains, and beautiful white sand
beaches. We arrived there late at night just in time for the opening
ceremony barbeque. I had a really fun night hanging out with all the
Japanese pros.

Then we went to our hotel, which was a really nice traditional
Japanese hotel.

The next day was the first day of competition and I woke up to a very good
Japanese breakfast that was brought to my room. Then I relaxed in the spa
that overlooked the competition beach. I headed down to the beach, but
there was no wind that day so I hung out and explored the beach. That night
Hisataka, Nagamine, and I had an extravagant sushi dinner.

I awoke the next day to a cloudy, rainy, and stormy 15-18 knots of wind.
We ran the first round in just barely plannable conditions. The 2005 Freesex
90 was working great for me. I was able to plane before a lot of the other
guys even though they were on bigger sails. We finished two rounds of
competition in the light wind. As soon as they released us at 5:30, the wind picked up
to 25-30 knots! After the first two rounds, I was winning the event.

The next two days there was no wind so I won the event! We did the prize
giving at the beach that day. It was really cool. That night there was the
closing ceremony party. My last day on there I went site seeing around the
entire island. That day all the competitors caught the ferry back to
Kyushu.
Hisataka gave me a ride to the airport and I caught my flight home with the
most helpful and beautiful flight attendants I have ever seen.

It feels really good to win an event again. Now I am on Maui getting ready
for next years tour and a wave event at Hookipa in November.

See you on the water,
